Child safety standards
Crux has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These are our published external standards, as required by Google Play’s child safety standards policy.
Our standards
- Crux is for people 18 and over only. Date of birth is required at sign-up and under-18 sign-ups are rejected.
- Any content, message, behaviour or attempt that sexualises, exploits or endangers children — including grooming, sharing or requesting material involving minors, or trafficking — is strictly prohibited.
- Such content is removed immediately, the account is permanently banned and relevant records are preserved for legal process.
- CSAM and CSAE cases are reported to the competent authorities in Türkiye (General Directorate of Security, Public Prosecutors and ihbarweb.org.tr) in line with applicable law.
- Accounts suspected to belong to minors are reviewed with priority and closed if confirmed.
In-app reporting
Every profile and chat has a Report option, including “suspected under 18” and “inappropriate content”. These reports are prioritised in our moderation queue. Users can also contact us from the in-app Safety center.
Prevention
- Profile photos and reported content are reviewed by human moderators; selfie verification confirms profile ownership.
- Incoming chat photos are blurred by default.
- Our moderation team is trained on these issues and we review our processes regularly.
Compliance
Crux complies with applicable child safety laws and cooperates with the authorities.
